It’s the season for epizootic hemorrhagic disease, and the states are reporting in. The disease has been found in deer in: (Click on the state name for more information on the local outbreak.)

It’s suspected in Arkansas, according to the Baxter Bulletin. And a mystery disease of deer in Oklahoma may be epizootic hemorrhagic disease, or blue-green algae poisoning, or something else. Read more about the situation in the Tulsa World, here.

So sad. Up here in NH mountains our local rivers and streams can get that bluish green nasty scum in them maybe from heat,sun or rain or all of the above, not really sure up here we call it BLOOM and while we prospect in the river our Border Collie JT is with us I bring her fresh water in a cooler but every once in awhile I see her take a lick from the stream I tell her no and she listens but so sad a mountain stream is no longer safe to sip from
